Swiss Leading House South Asia

ZHAW

The ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences serves as the Swiss Leading House South Asia, mandated by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI).

We promote international collaboration in research, education and innovation between Switzerland and South Asia. Through our funding instruments, we support Swiss-based researchers in developing collaborative projects with partners in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Iran.

Our funding instruments are open to Swiss-based researchers from Swiss universities and public research institutions and aim to initiate projects that can develop into long-term partnerships with real-world impact. Early-stage startups have the opportunity to explore the Indian or Nepali startup ecosystem through the Academia-Industry Training program.

Funding instruments include the Connect & Collaborate Grant, Research Partnership Grant, and Academia-Industry Training (AIT) India and Nepal. These initiatives are designed to meet the needs of the Swiss research community and support the development of high-impact, interdisciplinary collaborations.
