swissuniversities works to strengthen and enhance collaboration among Swiss institutions of higher education and promotes a common voice on educational issues in Switzerland.

swissuniversities performs coordination tasks and acts on the international level as the national rectors’ conference for all universities, universities of applied science and universities of teacher education in Switzerland.

It coordinates the larger innovative programmes which are of Swiss-wide relevance to higher education policy. swissuniversities distributes the funds, among other things, by means of project calls to the institutions eligible for contributions including projects with international partners and networks.

A prominent swissuniversities programme is the swissuniversities Development and Cooperation Network (SUDAC). The SUDAC Programme is currently consolidating its network and promoting cooperation efforts of Swiss universities on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Switzerland and with higher education partners in the Global South.
