HFSP OrganisationEstablished in 1989 on the basis of an initiative by Japan, the Human Frontier Science Program HFSP promotes at global level, international collaboration in basic research focusing on the elucidation of the sophisticated and complex mechanisms of living organisms. Covered topics range from molecular and cellular approaches to systems and cognitive neuroscience.
The HFSP Organization fosters in priority the advancement of interdisciplinary research projects. These projects are mostly initiated within related sciences, but links between completely different disciplines such as chemistry, physics and informatics are particularly supported. Another important area is the promotion of international and intercontinental cooperation.
