LH Latin AmericaThe Exploratory Wine Research Mission’s objective is to approximate researchers from Swiss universities to the Argentinian and Brazilian science and innovation landscape. It is an opportunity to visit production sites, attend events, meet potential research partners, and get to know the local environment with the support of the Leading House for the Latin American Region in partnership with Swissnex in Brazil.
The call is designed for researchers who already or plan to develop bilateral collaboration with Latin American universities, working on wine-related topics, and who want to create a network of contacts for future research projects.
Eligibility:
The call is open to researchers affiliated with a Swiss university in any scientific discipline or field of study. All researchers of Swiss federal and cantonal universities, universities of applied sciences, universities of teachers’ education, and public research institutions are entitled to apply. Research institutions in Switzerland must be accredited by swissuniversities.
Researchers may apply to this call regardless of their nationality.
Applications from researchers working in any wine studies field, including, but not limited to, viticulture, oenology, chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, by-product valorisation, consumer behaviour, public health, psychology, business, marketing, geography, and production technologies, are welcome.
Funding:
The Leading House will cover the following costs: flight tickets from Switzerland to Argentina and Brazil, local transport, accommodation, event fees, and consumables during the program. Meals and transport outside the official program are not included in the covered expenses.
The program will take place between November 17 and 30, 2024, in Argentina and Brazil, with the following agenda:
November 17-22, 2024: Participation in the 15th International Terroir Congress in Mendoza, Argentina, including a special matchmaking session between researchers from Swiss and Argentinian universities and research institutes.
November 23-30, 2024: Agenda in Minas Gerais and Pernambuco, Brazil, including production sites and laboratory visits, matchmaking sessions with Brazilian universities and research institutes, and networking events.
