LH AsiaThe Leading House Asia supports the exchange of young researchers between Switzerland and Japan.
The Leading House Asia ETH Zurich and the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) jointly fund the exchange of early career scientists between Japan and Switzerland.
The instrument funds 3 to 6-month research stays in the partner country. Switzerland-based researchers can apply to ETH Zurich for a stay in Japan and Japanese researchers to JSPS for a stay in Switzerland.
Eligibility: Doctoral students (and in exceptional cases, post-doctoral and Master students) from Swiss universities, universities of applied sciences and public research institutes are invited to apply.
Funding: Grants will cover travel costs and a monthly living allowance for a research stay at a Japanese university or research laboratory.
Application process
The Switzerland-based prospective applicant must apply to ETH Zurich as the Leading House Asia. The submission of the application takes place in two compulsory steps (as stated in the call guidelines):
- Submission of your application details via the ‘Online application form for Swiss applicants.
- Upload your application form with the requested appendices in one single pdf document via the application form online.
Japanese candidates will have to apply directly with JSPS. For application details, refer to the JSPS website.
