Swiss Leading House AfricaThe AIT Cleantech – Ghana 2025 call is an opportunity for Swiss innovators to explore the Cleantech market in Ghana and the wider African region. A tailored program will connect you with experts, startups, universities, startups, customers and government representatives working on waste management and clean energy solutions.
Ghana’s cleantech landscape is evolving rapidly. The country is investing in modern waste management systems, recycling infrastructure, renewable energy, and environmental services. Partnerships with key actors—such as the Jospong Group of Companies, Ghanaian ministries, research institutions, and local startups—make it an exciting moment for Swiss innovators to contribute expertise, build collaborations and develop products for the African continent.
The AIT programme in Cleantech will give Swiss entrepreneurs and impact focused researchers an opportunity for exploration of markets, customer needs, partnerships and the research environment in Ghana. The programme is also an opportunity to explore turning research to impact with collaborations on product development, validation or optimisation of existing products including locally developed solutions within the Jospong group.
The programme will include curated interactions with:
- The Swiss Pavilion at the West African Clean Energy and Environment Trade Fair and Conference (WACEE’25)
- Ghanaian government stakeholders and agencies active in waste management and environmental policy
- The Jospong Group of Companies (waste management and environmental services) with leading technology use, research centres and a growing international footprint.
- Local startups, universities, and researchers in the cleantech space
The trip is anchored around WACEE’25 (November 11-12, 2025), where participants will showcase their solutions, attend networking events, and explore opportunities with regional partners.
Startups will be selected based on the fit of their solution with needs of Africa, potential of their technology and also potential for impact along the Sustainable Development Goals including inclusive employment along with water, energy and climate goals. Impact focused researchers will be chosen based on their expertise and interest in building local partnerships.
Prior to departure, there will be preparation with Swissenviro and other supporters to identify potential collaborators and plan 1:1 meetings. Jospong is a supporter of the programme and actively looking to engage with Swiss innovators and researchers.
