Since 2017, this Joint Funding Scheme (JFS) has implemented joint calls for proposals to fund bi-regional and multilateral research and innovation projects. The selected themes are of interest to participating national and local funding agencies in Southeast Asia and Europe. The objective is to pool resources at a multilateral level to support collaborative research projects.

The SNSF is participating in the 10th JFS call for proposals. Researchers based in Switzerland, from all disciplines, can apply if their projects fall within one of the following areas:

  • Theme 1: New materials and the green transition
  • Theme 2: Smart and climate-resilient agriculture thanks to AI and IoT (Internet of Things)

At least three partners from three different countries must participate in each consortium; one of them must be based in Southeast Asia. A list of participating countries is available on the JFS website. Further information on the application rules is available on the JFS website. Please refer to the respective national participation requirements and contact the designated person for further information. All research partners in a consortium are supported by their own national or regional funding agency, with the exception of self-funded partners.

Researchers based in Switzerland applying for SNSF funding to participate in the call for proposals must meet the eligibility requirements for the SNSF Project Support program. Furthermore, researchers are strongly advised to consult the Swiss Alliance for Global Research Partnerships (GRP-Alliance) guide regarding the projects they plan to undertake. Researchers based in Switzerland must submit their complete application via the JFS PT Outline platform and simultaneously via mySNF.
